1919 Literary Digest History of the World War Complete 10 Vol Set WWI Illustrate For Sale

Offered here is a complete 10-volume set of The Literary Digest History of the World War, compiled from original and contemporary sources by Francis Whiting Halsey and published by Funk & Wagnalls Company, New York and London beginning in 1919.

This impressive illustrated set chronicles World War I from the outbreak of the war in 1914 through the major campaigns, Western and Eastern Fronts, U.S. entry into the war, naval battles, submarine warfare, armistice and other important events.

Complete set – Volumes 1 through 10.

The books feature matching blue cloth hardcover bindings with gilt lettering on the spines and numerous historical photographs and illustrations throughout.

An interesting feature of this particular set is the previous owner's name, Donald L. Gray, written inside and also neatly signed along the page edges of the volumes. No claim is being made regarding the historical identity of the previous owner; these are being described as ownership markings only.

Condition:
Antique pre-owned condition consistent with books more than 100 years old. Bindings show shelf wear, edge/corner wear and some fraying, particularly around the spine ends. Pages and page edges show normal age toning. The books remain an attractive matching set. Please carefully review all photographs, as they are an important part of the condition description.
