Original circa 1919–1920 antique photograph album containing 150+ original photographs documenting travel through Arizona and the American West, with Williams, Arizona and the Grand Canyon prominently represented.The album contains a fascinating variety of early Western and travel imagery, including an excellent photograph of an early biplane/airplane with a crowd gathered around it, numerous Grand Canyon views, horseback riders, horses and pack trains, railroad-related scenes, buildings, landscapes, automobiles, travelers, and everyday life.Many of the album pages have handwritten period captions identifying locations, people, and scenes, adding significant historical context to the photographs. Williams, Arizona is featured repeatedly throughout the album.There are 150+ photographs total, including photographs mounted to the original black album pages as well as a number of loose photographs that were found inside the album. The loose photographs are included with the sale.The album and photographs show age-related wear consistent with being approximately 100 years old. Photos may have fading, toning, discoloration, surface wear, creases, or other age-related imperfections. Album pages and binding also show wear.
