Robinson VC — 5.5x3.5inDESCRIPTIONThis is an original period real photo postcard (RPPC) documenting the crash site of the German airship SL 11 at Cuffley, Hertfordshire, brought down in the early hours of September 3, 1916, the first German airship destroyed on British soil during the First World War.The main image is a general view of the wreckage field, showing the collapsed engine gondola, tangled bracing wire and rigging, and scattered structural framework left after the airship burned and crashed.An oval inset in the upper right identifies Lt. W.L. Corners show light wear with a small soft bend at the upper right corner, visible under close inspection. Scattered small white spotting/flecking is present across the image, consistent with the original period print and negative rather than modern damage. A faint diagonal surface line is visible in the upper sky area of the photograph. No creases, tears, or writing. Back is clean and unused, no postal markings.
