This is a real photo postcard of a group of American soldiers pouring oil on the bodies of dead combatants to cremate them. This was taken circa 1916 during the General Pershing punitive expedition to Mexico to stop Pancho Villa's border raids. The photos were taken and distributed by W.H. Horne in El Paso, Texas. This is a rare image.
