GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) 1915 49th NATIONAL ENCAMPMENT BADGE & RIBBON. The badge is a three-part bronze badge with yellow suspension ribbon. The top suspension bar is a representation of the eagle from the membership badge with crossed cannons and a stack of cannon balls, (has a working pin clasp on the back). Suspended from that by single chain link is a drop inscribed \"Representative\" over the intertwined letters \"GAR\" in red, white and blue enamels. Around the \"GAR\" are banderoles with \"Sept 27, Oct 2, 49th Annual Encampment 1915\". The bottom suspension bar is in the shape of a wreath. The round pendant depicts the capitol dome and the Washington Monument, with the national shield below. The obverse carries the inscription \"Washington\". The reverse of the pendant depicts the \"Grand Review 1865\". The overall piece measures approx. 4-3/4\" long.
