Original lot of two business letters on illustrated Red Jacket Manufacturing Company letterhead, mailed from Davenport, Iowa, to Jacob Bender & Son of Sutton, Nebraska.
The letters are dated January 8, 1914 and April 3, 1934, providing a nice two-decade snapshot of correspondence from the well-known manufacturer of Red Jacket water systems and power pumps. The 1914 letter promotes the company\'s pump line, dealer profits, and advertising support available to distributors. The 1934 letter acknowledges an order shipment, explains C.O.D. terms, references a current price sheet and catalog, and directs future orders through a regional distributor.
The 1934 letterhead features illustrated pumping equipment along with the National Recovery Administration (NRA) eagle emblem used during the New Deal era. Both letters retain their original typed text and are excellent examples of early industrial and agricultural advertising correspondence.
Condition is good overall with expected mailing folds, light age toning, and handling wear. The 1914 letter has a horizontal slit across the lower portion that affects several lines of typed text. The 1934 letter has pencil notations and an ink signature. Please examine all photos carefully for condition and contents.
