This product is EXTREMELY RARE 1912 Ellen Clapsaddle Halloween ORIGINAL PRODUCTION PAINTING she painted for a Halloween postcard she had published by International Art Company. This is unsigned but I also have the 1912 PUBLISHED version of the card...that I am willing to include with the original postcard sized painting. In a corner of the painting is a tiny copyright ownership written in tiny handwriting... as owned by International Art Company....
Ive been collecting for several decades and only know of five examples of her original **postcard production art ***surviving.
The only \" greetings\" she wrote on the original painting is \" The Black Art...\"
This allowed for the publisher to put a variety of Halloween greetings in their own desired wordings. As is well known you might find one specific Clapsaddle postcard that publishers perhaps released with multiple different greetings on them...I love the unusual dark topic of silhouette spirits rising out of a smoking witch cauldron !
