Outstanding original early U.S. Marine Corps forestry-green wool NCO greatcoat/overcoat, P1912-pattern, dating to the WWI–early 1920s era.
This impressive full-length Marine Corps overcoat retains its period Corporal chevrons on both sleeves and original-style bronze Eagle, Globe & Anchor Marine Corps buttons. The two-bar insignia identifies the rank as Corporal; period Marine regulations specify the distinctive red-bordered chevron system for NCOs.
Beautiful heavy forestry-green wool construction with oversized roll collar, double-breasted front, long skirt and distinctive stitched/pointed cuff treatment. The coat displays exceptionally well and has a fantastic early Marine Corps appearance.
Condition: Very good antique military condition for its age. Shows expected age/use, scattered small moth/insect nips and minor surface wear. Interior lining shows age. Please examine all photographs closely for exact condition. No modern restoration represented.
