1912, Jacob Joseph School Haggadah Service For Passover, HB Hebrew-English RARE For Sale

Full titled (on the title page), Service for The First Two Nights of Passover, New Edition, Thoroughly Revised, With Music Arranged by Henry A. Russotto. Published by the Hebrew Publishing Company in 1912. It measures about 7" by 4.5", has numbered pages until 62, then 5 unnumbered pages of songs. There are advertising paste-ons behind front and rear boards. There appears to be a pagination issue and/or missing leaves. The title page is unpaginated - on the back of the title page, same leaf, is page numbered two. This implies that the title page is Page 1. Then the next leaf on the left side has page 4 - there is no page 3? These adjoining pages, 2 and 4, are shown in a listing photo. As seen, the discussion on the bottom of page 2 discusses differences depending on what day the first day of Passover lands on - a weekday, Friday, etc. This discussion continues on top of page 4. Therefore it seems that there never was a page 3 - nothing appears missing here. The page behind the page numbered 4 has no number, it begins a section titled, Sanctification for the Passover. I assume this was meant to be page 5. The next leaf begins on page 8. it begins in the middle of a sentence, while the bottom of page 5 was a sentence end. That does suggest that maybe there should have been a leaf with pages 6 and 7 before this page 8. These pages/leaves are shown in listing photo. The pagination then continues with no issues until the unpaginated music.
Overall the book is in GOOD CONDITION (notwithstanding page issues noted). Clean brown cloth boards with rubbed yellow/gold embedded titling and decoration. The pages are clean and solidly bound. SEVERAL B&W ILLUSTRATIONS THROUGHOUT! There is one page with a small tear, in the song section. There was use of binding paper between the back board and the last page of the text block - see listing photo.
OVERALL A VERY RARE AND VERY INTERESTING EARLY 20th CENTURY HAGGADAH!
