Offered is an original 1904 Industrial Mining Company Stock Certificate issued during the Territory of Arizona, eight years before Arizona achieved statehood in 1912.
Certificate No. 136 was issued for 200 shares to William Gagan and features a stunning bald eagle vignette, ornate engraved borders, original officer signatures, and a crisp gold embossed corporate seal. The reverse is equally impressive with an engraved eagle design and decorative security printing, making this one of the more visually striking Territorial-era mining certificates.
Issued under the laws of the Territory of Arizona and dated August 23, 1904, with execution on October 18, 1904, this certificate represents an outstanding piece of early Southwestern mining and Territorial history. The stated capital stock was $1,000,000, reflecting the optimism of Arizona’s mining boom during the territorial period.
