1900s VICTORIAN Gold GILDED Carved OAK Picture Frame w/IDENTICAL TWINS Photo !!!
Here is a very large antique Victorian gilded double row picture frame with the original looking colored picture in it of a pair of identical twin babies, very well done from the late 1800s.
The oak frame measures 26-1/4 inches wide, 30-1/4 inches tall, 1-1/2 inches in total thickness with gilding.
The actual opening in the back and image measures 16 inches wide, 20 inches tall.
I think the frame is actually quarter sawn oak hardwood, has a very nice grain pattern.
This old frame is absolutely beautiful, I've never seen a delicate gilded frame in quite this nice of condition, no missing gesso molding, gold leaf is still very strong, some darker areas in the corners, overall has a nice original patina, too - check it out !!!
Image looks like it been in the frame forever, I haven't tried to remove it, some flaking in places like I've seen in older pastel prints but just not sure of composition or if its a photograph or print, hard to tell behind the glass, but, definitely period to the frame.
This will be carefully packed and shipped with plenty of proper wrap.

Thanks for looking.
