1900s NIAGARA Falls IMPORTING CO Liquor WHISKEY Jug PRE-PRO - possible SALOON !!
Probably 1 gallon or so capacity.
Height is about 12 inches, and 6-1/2 inches across the base.
Has a simple 3 line stencil across the front that says NIAGARA IMPORTING CO. 354 THIRD STREET NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y.
Now, I think the actual address is 353 THIRD but kind of blurry so not 100 % sure, I have located an old newspaper ad on Facebook that pinpoints it as 353 Third. There is also a photo of this newspaper clip shown in the last pic.
Louis J. Ward was listed as the manager in this ad, sounds kind of like a saloon to me, they sold 5 kinds of whiskey by the barrel or jug !!! So, here is one of their obscure jugs.
Must be a somewhat obscure establishment as I can only find one similar jug pictured on worthpoint, so, probably not too many of these stencil advertising jugs around.

Its in very good overall condition, handle is sturdy and looks well attached, some normal age related scuffs and flaws, nothing really distracting, couple small chips off side of upper lip, one tiny chip off handle, all very minor and pretty typical, no cracks, very solid, stencil lettering is somewhat blurry but for the most part can still be read - its a very decent example and you will love it.
Please review all photos and read the description carefully and/or ask questions before offerding as this is the exact jug you will receive.
A decent looking and pretty scarce example of this Niagara Falls dealer in a 1 gallon stoneware jug - would make a great addition to anyone\'s collection.
