The 1900-1910 J.R Torrey Razor is a vintage straight razor made in the United States. J.R. Torrey Razor Co., Worcester, Mass. — one of the first American companies to manufacture straight razors domestically, founded in 1858 as a strop maker, adding razor production in 1880 after partnering with Sheffield-trained cutler Joseph Turner.
Dating your razor: Your tang stamp has the arched “U.S.” with an arrow through it — collectors note this arched style with the arrow through “U.S.” dates to the early 20th century, while earlier tang stamps used straight-line print  instead. So this is likely a 1900s–1910s piece, made during the company’s peak production years around World War I.
Condition notes from your photos: The scales (handle) show heavy wear and staining but appear intact with a well-preserved brass pivot pin. There’s some rust/pitting near the tang end of the scales, and the blade itself shows the etched maker’s mark still legible under the patina — that’s good news for value, since a readable etch matters a lot to collectors.
A bit of color on the company: It’s noted that by 1917 Torrey was the only factory in the U.S. exclusively dedicated to straight razor manufacturing,  though the rise of safety razors eventually killed the business — they closed in 1952.
