This is an original Imperial Japanese Army cavalry drill manual, published on March 15, 1898 (Meiji 31) by the Army Ministry Official Publications Office and printed by Kōseidō in Tokyo.
The manual, titled Kihei Sōten (騎兵操典), was an official military handbook used for the training and education of cavalry officers and soldiers. It covers a wide range of subjects essential to cavalry operations, including:
