1897 Jas Bute Houston Texas Illustrated Billhead Paints Oils Window Glass Invoice
Antique Jas. Bute billhead dated October 23, 1897, from Houston, Texas. Features a detailed illustration of the company’s Main Street store and ornate advertising for paints, oils, wallpaper, window glass and window shades.
The printed heading lists 205 Main Street, additional premises on Franklin Street, and a warehouse at the corner of Wood and Willow Streets.
The document includes handwritten merchandise entries and calculations, a D. W. Michaux salesman stamp, and a handwritten “Duplicate” notation.
An appealing piece for collectors of Texas business history, Houston memorabilia, antique advertising and illustrated paper ephemera.
Condition: Age toning and uneven browning, horizontal and vertical folds, corner creases, edge tears and small areas of paper loss. A tear extends inward from the bottom edge along a fold. Please review all photographs for the exact condition and handwritten details.
