1896 Denver Festival Mountains and Plain Medallion/Ribbon Souvenir For Sale

Please read condition description! The Festival of Mountain and Plain, in its second year, was widely described as Denver's Mardi Gras. Each of the four days featured a parade stretching as much as "five miles long" with over 5,000 participants. Each had a different theme, though all included masks,costumes,marching bands, both military and Native American groups, and much wildly spontaneous behavior. Re-enacted battles and dances took place in city park. The last day was the parade of The Slaves of the Silver Serpent, a distinctive group with a great dragon emblem and a Queen. Silver Serpent memorabilia is highly desirable. A Silver Serpent ball was also held at the Brown Palace. I listed a rare, unused ticket/program for The Silver Serpent Ball along with this souvenir piece. Shipped First Class with Tracking and Insurance. All sales are final.
