1888 Totten San Francisco Sepia Cabinet Card Photo Portrait Man & Child For Sale

Photographed by celebrated California photographer Isaiah West Taber at his studio at 8 Montgomery Street, San Francisco, opposite the Palace and Grand Hotels. Taber was one of San Francisco’s best-known early photographers and documented numerous prominent Californians and important Western subjects. His work is represented in major institutional collections, including the Library of Congress and California State Library. Library of Congress⁠The reverse has a very faint family inscription that appears to include the date “Sep. 22, 1889,” together with additional writing that is no longer fully legible. An old penciled price of $10 appears at the upper right.Condition: Attractive antique condition with expected fading, scattered spotting, light surface wear and minor wear around the mount’s edges and rounded corners.
