1887 J.R. WATKINS PURE GROUND CLOVES TINThis is an old empty Cloves tin from J.R. Watkins Medical Company made on May 17th, 1887. It previously belonged to my father, who sold Watkins products in the sixties, seventies and eighties and loved to collect their old tins, bottles and books. The tin is in great condition given its age (rust and minor scratches included!). This would make a great addition to any collectors of J.R. Watkins as well as anyone collecting old cooking tins.

The J.R. Watkins Company was founded in 1868 and today continues to sell household products (home and health remedies as well as baking products). Many people still remember the Watkins man who came door to door in a horse-drawn wagon traveling around the countryside many decades ago.
