Original lot of three Clark’s Mile-End Spool Cotton advertising trade cards, copyright 1887 by Donaldson Brothers of New York.These colorful Victorian chromolithographs belong to the six-card H605 “Rulers and Views” series. Each card combines a portrait of a European monarch with national symbols and an architectural or landmark scene.Included:• Emperor Alexander II — Russia
• Emperor William I — Germany
• King Humbert I — ItalyEach card measures approximately 2¾ x 4⅜ inches. All three retain strong color and have the original Clark’s Mile-End “Best Six Cord” advertising printed on the reverse.Antique condition with expected age toning, edge and corner wear, light spotting, and surface rubbing. The Emperor William card has heavier surface wear and a small tear/paper loss along the lower edge. Alexander II and King Humbert display more cleanly with comparatively minor wear. Backs have age-related discoloration but no obvious handwriting.This listing includes exactly the three original cards shown, representing half of the known six-card World Rulers series.
