1876 1880 JAMES GARFIELD HAYES PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION TALLY Card CHAMBERSBURG PA
This is an advertising card that shows a list of the electoral votes that Hayes & Tilden won in the 1876 election. Beside them are blank columns for Garfield & Hancock for the 1880 election. The idea is that you were supposed to look at the results of the 1876 election to give yourself a bit of research to make an educated guess at which candidate would win each state. Add them up and you\'d have your projected winner.
The card was produced for Clay Henninger, who had a store to sell hats, caps, and firs in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Henninger Field, the historic baseball field that was built in 1895, was used at times for D league minor league baseball, and is still in use today, was named after Clay Henninger, according to the Wikipedia entry for the field.
