Original December 3, 1870 Vanity Fair caricature featuring Baron Philipp von Brunnow, titled “Men of the Day No. 15,” and illustrated by Carlo Pellegrini, known as “Ape.”
Brunnow was a prominent Russian diplomat and ambassador who was an important figure in Victorian-era Anglo-Russian diplomatic relations.
The caricature includes the original period artwork and the satirical caption “One of the most precious products of political miscegenation.”
An excellent collectible for Vanity Fair collectors, Victorian art enthusiasts, diplomatic history collectors, antique print collectors and 19th-century ephemera enthusiasts.
This is an original period chromolithograph, not a modern reproduction.
The actual original print shown in the photographs is the item being offered.
