I think that if you should get kiled on the cars [train cars] and i should not tell you another time. Please tel when you are coming home. – E. D. Servis, Merryall, Bradford Pa." Letter 2: Large Two-Page Letter (Written by husband Elisha Servis & family member) Page 1 (Elisha to his wife): "Merryall Jany 18/70 — Dear Wife, We rec'd yours of Sat 15th today... Willis took the head dress down for Aunt Emma... May has the toothache yet... yesterday she did the washing before dinner & ironing in the afternoon beside fixing lining in our pants... Eddie got his on at noon. Dear Ma please don't feel so about spending money, do get such things as you want to buy... if your money runs out I will send you what you need... I want you should be it seems lonesome without you yet if your health can be fully restored I dont care for any cost that we can pay..."
