1869 New York Letter on Market Prices and Trade Samples – A.B. Lewis to P.W. Dudley & Co.
Approximately 7.75" by 9.75" some folds
An original handwritten business letter dated March 27, 1869, from A.B. Lewis of 112 Wall Street, New York, addressed to Messrs. P.W. Dudley & Co. The letter responds to a query regarding a product called “The Patent 4853,” stating that no similar item can be found on the market and offering insights on trade samples sent. Lewis provides advice on stocking at current prices, suggesting they may have hit bottom. A compelling piece of post-Civil War commercial correspondence with insights into 19th-century trade and market conditions. Includes docketing on the reverse.
