Here\'s a scarce early 1860 smooth base Venabbe snuff bottle from Petersburg, Virginia....J.M.VENABBE & CO PETERSBURG,VA.bold emb vertical on front panel....Hand blown in mold...early smooth base with straight line hinge mold seam....rough sheared/snapped off mouth...deep amber...rect with beveled corners...4 1/8\"tall....Shiny nice condition with only some roughness/chipping around the top of naturally rough sheared mouth; no other damage. A nice clean bottle with no haze.... This powdered tobacco snuff bottle may have belonged to some Confederate soldier who was stationed near Petersburg.
