This is a letter written in December 19, 1852 from someone who has moved to Indiana from Pennsylvania. He is writing to his family . The back has a chart showing either market prices or crop yields . The writing and spelling are difficult to make out, but this is what I could tell from it.

He says things like:
* We are all well
* We have been in Indiana about seven weeks
* We like the country very well
* He earns about a dollar a week to work (possibly “a dollar a day,” hard to tell)
* He wants the recipient to write back
* This is already the second letter he has sent without reply
* Someone sent him:
* celery seed
* anticuty(?) seed
* garden salad seed
* He wants more seeds sent in a letter/package
* He asks about whether “the folks” are all well.
The paper has folds, foxing and a small tear. It was sent folded up. It doesn’t have a stamp on it, and the part that was folded up and on the outside is yellowed. The yellow has passed through to the other side.
