Book 13 page 42
Original 1837 handwritten resolution from the Select and Common Councils of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This document authorizes the Mayor to draw a warrant for $100 in favor of Messrs. Michael & Maxwell to cover expenses for procuring paper and printing plates for a City Loan. Dated May 3, 1837, and signed by Wm. Whiteside, Clerk, with concurrence by Montgomery. A fascinating piece of early municipal finance and local governance. Excellent for collectors of Pennsylvania history, early American documents, or antique city ephemera.
