This 1820 letter, is written to and from the Connecticut Comptroller's Office and Gideon Tomlinson. It is hard to tell which was the sender and which was the recipient. This letter is Tomlinson’s copy.
Tomlinson was a United States senator, United States Representative, and the 25th Governor for the state of Connecticut. At the time of the writing of this letter, he was congressman.
