This is a wonderful antique Dutch needlework sampler dated 1798. It shows flowers, birds and other animals, fruit baskets, a crown and crowned cartouches with intitials.
The sampler is stitched on linen cloth with multi-colored silk thread.
It measures approximately 20 1/4 x 18 inches or 51.5 x 45.5 cm.
The sampler is in good condition, considering its age.
There is some minor color run, especially near the two fruit baskets, the child\'s cot and the peacock\'s feet.
The egdes of the sampler are a bit folded and have some small holes in it. Please see photos.
