1638 Netherlands JEHOVAH COIN - Historical Reproduction, See Description For Sale

This is a German States Thaler (specifically a Weidenbaumtaler or Willow Tree Thaler) originally minted in the 1630s by the Landgraviate of Hesse-Kassel• The Design: The reverse side shown here depicts a large willow tree enduring a violent thunderstorm and lightning strike. Above the tree, a radiant sun emits rays containing the tetragrammaton (יהוה - YHWH/Jehovah in Hebrew).
• The Latin Inscription: Around the edge runs the phrase DEO VOLENTE HUMILIS LEVABOR (partially visible as IEHOVA VOLENTE HUMILIS... on some variations). This translates roughly to: \"God willing, the lowly will be lifted up\" or \"With Jehovah\'s will, I shall arise.\"
• Historical Significance: Minted during the devastating Thirty Years\' War under rulers William V and William VI, the imagery symbolized the resilience of Hesse-Kassel—bending like a willow under the storm of war but remaining unbroken through divine protection.
