This is a large collection of approximately 106 original vintage Japanese photographs featuring students, school girls, teachers, school buildings, group portraits and school-related events.
The photographs appear to date from the pre-war through postwar periods of Japan.
The collection includes many group photographs of female students and school classes, as well as photographs of school buildings, outings, ceremonies and everyday student life.
These photographs may be of interest as historical reference material relating to Japanese education, women’s history, school uniforms, social history and everyday life in early to mid-20th century Japan.
Some photographs may have handwritten notes, dates, names or other information on the reverse.
Exact dates, schools and identities have not been fully researched.
