Her father was electedU.S. SenatorfromCaliforniawhen she was two andVicePresident of the United Stateswhen she was four. Her 1968marriage toDavid Eisenhower, grandsonof PresidentDwight D. Eisenhower, wasseen as a union between two of the most prominentpoliticalfamilies in the United States. Throughout theNixon administration(1969to 1974), Julie worked as Assistant Managing Editor ofThe Saturday Evening Postwhileholding the unofficial title of "First Daughter."
