The product is a 1863 Cincinnati OH-1863) Cincinnati OH-165CN-1a (R-3) B Kittredge & Co Civil War Token. Made by Scovill Mfg. Co. of Waterbury CT. Au. Plain Edge, 19mm, Copper.
The principal was Benjamin Kittredge. Cincinnati directories establish the firm at 134 Main Street, with Kittredge living at Madisonville. In 1861 the partnership is explicitly given as B. Kittredge & Co. —Benjamin Kittredge and August A. Bennett, importing guns and sporting apparatus and dealing in gunpowder.
A detailed firearms-history source says Kittredge moved from Chester, New Hampshire, to Cincinnati in 1842, established his gun business on Main Street in 1847, and eventually bought the property. It also documents his role as an agent for Franklin Wesson and a July 1863 government contract for 150 Wesson carbines.
