View Larger Image   Painted Chamber Pail Bucket w/ Cover Bail & Handle   Description: This is a hard to find covered galvanized metal chamber pail, with a painted exterior from the late 1800 to the early 1900's era. The pail is 13" tall from the bottom to the top of the cover handle, and 12" diameter at the widest part at the top. It is a gray/green color on the outside, with gold and black decoration line. The inside is a clean galvanized finish. It is in good+ original condition with some minor surface rust and pitting on the cover mostly, and some rust on the steel part of the bail. The handle is wood on the bail, and is in very good solid condition. We were able to find similar pails in old catalogs, including the Sears, Roebuck and Company catalog from 1902 (the one that was reprinted). A very study, well made pail, in fact the add in the catalog mentions it is worth a dozen tin pails. It could be used for a coal or ash bucket also.
