View Larger Image   Daguerrotype in Case, Gold Leaf embellished   Description: A very well done daguerreotype photo from the Civil War era, 1860's or just a bit earlier, This case holds the image of a lady in a plaid costume from the era with a slightly severe hairdo with a middle part. She does look serene. Image is surrounded by a gold leaf setting in this case that measures nearly 3 in. x 2.5 in. In good condition but there is a break where it folds together and has been taped. and the hook clasp is still intact and in working order. Embossed pattern on the outside cover of the case.
