Printed by James Oram, No. 241 Pearl-Street, NY.
The motto on the front page states: \"Visiting Every Flower with Labour Meet, and Gathering all its Treasures, Sweet by Sweet.\"New-York Weekly Museum was published from September 20, 1788 - April 26, 1817. It was not a heavy duty paper, it was more about stories of the area and other easy going things. It was a small paper dedicated to a little bit of this and that. By the end of the Madison administration it was no more.
Read excerpts from the time of James Madison\'s presidency - just 36 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence (1776).
It is an 4 page (2 pages front and back) newspaper measuring approximately 9\" x 11.5\".The paper contains literary works (poems and translations), essays, marriages, deaths and other anecdotes.
Overall, the paper is in Fair Condition. There is wear to the paper - there are many creases, nicks, chips and tears along the edges. There are a number creases in the middle of the editorials, as well. The over 200 year old paper also suffers from some staining, foxing, browning, spotting, and type fading. Small holes down the left border from where it was once bound. Some pencil writing on the paper, as well. The corners are chipped and pieces are missing. The paper is split down the fold - both pages are present, but they are no longer attached. Several tears in the articles.
