Doug Sneyd Signed Original Color Xerox Gag Sketch Art SET Playboy January 1996 For Sale

From the January 1996 issue of Playboy, this original art set features two hand-colored Xerox copies of the pencil sketch. Each measures approximately 8 1/2 by 11 inches. Sneyd made two Xerox copies of the pencil sketch, then hand-colored each to decide which colors worked best. This is part of the artists creative process in making the final cartoon as it will ultimately appear in the magazine (though, usually, he creates only one such hand-colored Xerox... but in this case he did two of them). Also included in with the listing is a Xerox copy of the cartoon as it ultimately appeared in that issue.

Doug Sneyd began his career incommercial illustration before going freelance to work for a variety of book and magazine publishers. He also illustrated single-panel cartoons for theToronto Star, Canada's largest circulation newspaper (cartoons that were eventually syndicated throughout North America). In 1964, he began working for Playboyand hisgag strips have appeared in the magazine ever since. Throughout his career, he has contributed over 500 cartoons in all and became a favorite artist of Playboy readers.
