Antique A.Diesinger DRGM 154927 German Beer Stein Relief Dancing Ladies #939 c.1900s #2

Description: Presented is the color version of Diesinger mold # 939.
This beautiful stein was made in Germany by Adolph Diesinger between 1901 and 1910. A.Diesinger is one of the most collectable beer stein manufacturers. His designs are unique and hard to confuse with anything else - they are close to the so-called "naive art", and that's exactly the reason for the appeal and attractivness.

Made in relief technique with a center medallion decorated with relief picture two ladies dancing with a fan and a garland, a very popular sunject matter in A.Diesinger's designs. Very nicely and elaborately hand-painted in large variety of colors. The inscription reads:

“Ein guter Trunk macht Alte jung.”
(A good drink makes old people young.)

The lid is pewter - a solid and  ornate one - a rare thing for Diesinger who usually employed much cheaper lids.

Marked with "Gesetzlich Geschutzt" patent mark, DRGM 154927. This patent number was taken by A.Diesinger in 1901 and was in use until 1910. The mold number is 939.

Please note - I have two of these steins, this one and another one of the same mold but in two colors - tan and brown.  If you are buying this and are interested in a matching pair please let me know I can give a 10% discount on the second one and ship it for free.

Excellent condition. This is a very impressive tall stein - it is 11" tall to the top of the finial, 0,5L capacity

Condition: Excellent Year: 1900s Country: Germany Maker: A.Diesinger Height: 11 in. Materials: pottery
