Antique A.Diesinger DRGM 154927 German Beer Stein POG Renaissance Drinkers c.1900s
Description:
This beautiful stein was made in Germany by Adolph Diesinger between 1901 and 1910. A.Diesinger is one of the most collectable beer stein manufacturers. His designs are unique and hard to confuse with anything else - they are close to the so-called "naive art", and that's exactly the reason for the appeal and attractivness.
Made in POG (Pring Over Glaze) technique with beautiful picture of a group of people in Renaissance clothes toasting and drinking from beer steins and drinking horns.
The lid is pewter - a solid and ornate one - a rare thing for Diesinger who usually employed much cheaper lids.
Marked with "Gesetzlich Geschutzt" patent mark, DRGM 154927. This patent number was taken by A.Diesinger in 1901 and was in use until 1910.
Excellent condition with a some minimal age-related wear.
This is a very impressive tall stein - it is 10" tall to the top of the finial, 0,5L capacity
