Today I am offering this fabulous trio of vintage Byers' Choice Ltd Traditional Christmas Carolers.
These Victorian style town folk are dressed in a cozy outdoor clothing befitting the era they represent.
They are sculpted using mixed materials including fabric, wire, and plaster.
You will receive the following three figures:
#1 - An elderly lady in a red full length dress and a white apron. Her sash is red and green plaid. She has a crinoline under-slip.
She only has wires for legs and no feet.
Her crisp white puffy cotton bonnet is neatly trimmed with crocheted lace and accented with a holly leaf and berry.
Her soft gray coiffed hair peeks out from around her face.
She has brass wire-rimmed glasses perched on her nose.
Her head is tilted up in song.
Her hands are folded snugly across her chest.
She measures approximately as follows:
- 12" tall
- 4" across at the arms
- 3⅛" across the bottom base
#2 - This is young lady in a navy blue felt winter jacket with tails, and a red and green plaid box-pleated skirt with a crinoline under-slip.
Her crisp bright white cotton pantalettes are neatly trimmed with lace at the cuffs.
She has a white felt Christmas bonnet trimmed with a red band.
Her straight brown hair flips out from both sides of her sweet earnest face.
She has moulded black glossy shoes.
Her head is tilted up in song.
Her hands are tucked inside a luxurious white fur muff. (it feels like real rabbit fur).
She has a felt holly and berry accent at her neck.
She measures approximately as follows
- 9½" tall
- 3½" across at the arms
- 2½" across the bottom base
#3 - This could be the sister to #2!
This young lady is in a red felt winter jacket with tails, and a red and green plaid box-pleated skirt with a crinoline under-slip.
She also has white cotton pantalettes trimmed with lace.
She had a large puffy polished cotton Christmas green bonnet trimmed in red knit that is topped with white lace.
Her straight blonde hair peeks out from her hat on both sides.
She has moulded black glossy shoes.
Her head is also tilted up in song.
In her hand, she holds a crisp, unbent paper "Seasons Greetings" card in an envelope with a felt holly and berry accent.
She measures approximately as follows:
- 9½" tall
- 4" across at the arms
- 2⅝" across the bottom base
These figurines are all hand-signed "Byers" in black ink with the applicable year on their glossy green plaster bases indicating the founder Joyce Byers.
They are all in great vintage pre-owned condition. Especially for being for being about 40 years old.
They feature straight wire armature, and has no visible paint chips, discoloration, fabric tears, soiling, or odors.
They are stable and able to stand on a flat surface without tipping.
There are a couple of insignificant scuffs in the green base.
They all retain their original gold foil sticker label on the underside. 1985 is faded but still readable.
Handcrafted in Chalfont, Pennsylvania, these beautiful vintage ladies have been preserved in a smoke-free environment and make an excellent addition to your Christmas display.
