Good morning all. Here is a very coolvintage Republic Steel Corporation "Republic Stainless Steel" "For Lasting Utility and Beauty" 18" rule and center-finding rule.
I did not do an internet search on Republic, but the "Cleveland 1, Ohio" location given for Republic dates this rule no later than the late 1950s/very early 1960s.The rule is magnetic, which is obviously okay.
Since I was tired of my pictures looking as if I took them at the bottom of a mine shaft, I took these in strong natural sunlight. The downside of that is you can see every tiny surface scratch. The rule looks better in person, although, ironically, PLEASE NOTE that there is some staining by the "P" in "Republic", and up by the center-finding arrow, that you can see in the first picture.
