These Oregon State BeaversBanthrico, Inc. banks were produced during the 1960's and distributed by State of Oregon banking institutions as a promotion for the bank; I've learned that if you opened a new bank account, the customer would receive a bank. The offered Oregon State University piggy bank is much rarer than the U. of Oregon banthrico bank (this is only the 2nd example I've ever come across).The bank is marked "Citizen's Bank of Corvallis - Corvallis, Oregon" on the back. The bank is rarely found with the original key, though you can probably find a ghost key on , to unlock the base. The coin slot is located on the bank's underside. Not only does the offered bank display great, but it can also double as a paper weight, doorstop...or use your imagination!
