Antique frame for a 5 1/4" x 7 1/4" picture or photo.Old carved wood with black and gold surfaces.Decoration at the corners.Quite old; circa 1880s-1890s.
No glass.Currently there is a pair of old nails at the back to attach a horizontal wire hanger.Old nail holes at the back show that this frame was also hanged vertically, in the past.
Condition : distressed / shabby chicGeneral surface wear, some small chips in the black surface, here and there.The gold ( gilt ) inner surfaces are in pretty good condition; some dulling of the gold color, but consistent with being around 125+ years old.Completely original, with no repairs, no touch-up.
This frame has some wear and will work well for " shabby chic " decor - distressed furniture with romantic and elegant touches.Aged, " lived-in " vintage charm.
