Antique British Christmas & New Year Greeting Card – “Bright Hopes for The Future” – Lighthouse Design, c.1910s–1920s
Original early 20th-century British Christmas and New Year greeting card featuring a printed design of a lighthouse surrounded by holly garlands, with the message:
“Bright Hopes for The Future – Dec. 25 – New Year.”
The card opens to reveal the verse:
“Seasonable Greetings to Thee!
Thy Christmas be happy,
Care give thee wide berths;
Thy New Year be brightest
Of any on earth.”
Printed at lower right: “British Make.” Bound with its original green cord tie at the fold, typical of higher-quality Edwardian and early interwar greeting cards.
