This card advertises “The Crazy Dance,” a weekly event at Sheehan’s Tavern on San Francisco’s Great Highway. Historical sources confirm the tavern’s presence at Fulton Street and Great Highway as early as 1913, serving as a community gathering spot along Ocean Beach.

The Great Highway, built in the late 1800s, was a scenic drive and recreational strip bordering Ocean Beach, lined with taverns, dance halls, and amusement attractions.

The typography and style of this piece are consistent with the 1910s–1920s, aligning with the tavern’s known era of operation. Rare surviving ephemera from San Francisco’s western waterfront venues.
