Offered for sale is a lovely antique porcelain BOULLION or CREAM SOUP (two-handled) CUP AND SAUCER set, made by Thun of Bohemia, Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic). The pattern is called ROSEMARY, and features a wide ivory-colored band adorned with swags of tiny pink roses. Gold trim outlines the ivory bands and cup handles. The cups are marked on the bottom in green, as shown in pictures 6 and 7. This mark dates from 1918 to the 1980s, so this porcelain may be antique or merely vintage.
The ROSEMARY pattern has the same basic design as Thun\'s BRIDAL ROSE, but Bridal Rose has the rose swags set against a white background, instead of the ivory band.
The cup measures 3 1/2 inches (8.9cm) in diameter at the rim; the saucer measures 5 1/2 inches (14.0cm) in diameter. A U.S. quarter is shown in the third picture, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance.
The cup and saucer are in excellent condition. They are free from chips, cracks, scratches, and repairs. There is no fading or crazing of the glaze. The gold edge trim has no visible wear. FOUR cup-and-saucer sets are available at the time of listing; price is for ONE set.
