An original 8x10" vintage photo (NOT a modern reprint) from a large collection of hundreds of original movie photos acquired from a film business estate. Photo is from a a working collection used in a theater at one time for display.

This is an original 8x10 black and white movie still from the MGM film Young Cassidy (1965), showing Rod Taylor as John Cassidy, the fictionalized version of Irish playwright Sean O\'Casey, caught in a tense street crowd in Dublin, Ireland. Taylor, wearing a flat cap and corduroy jacket, pushes through a crowd of workingmen in tweed caps and worn coats. Brick warehouse buildings frame the street behind them.
The scene recalls the labor unrest and street clashes of early 20th century Dublin that shaped O\'Casey\'s life and plays. The still carries the production code YC-37 on the front. The back bears a Dutch film censorship board embossed seal and a Dutch distributor stamp, showing this print was used for the film\'s release in the Netherlands. It will appeal to Rod Taylor fans, John Ford and Jack Cardiff collectors, and anyone interested in Irish history and Irish cinema.
Historical Notes
Young Cassidy was adapted from Sean O\'Casey\'s autobiography Mirror in My House and filmed on location in Dublin in 1964. John Ford began directing but fell ill after about two weeks, and cinematographer-turned-director Jack Cardiff completed most of the film. Ford still received credit as having directed a portion. Sean O\'Casey died in September 1964, just months before the film opened in early 1965. The supporting cast included Julie Christie, Maggie Smith, Michael Redgrave, Edith Evans and Flora Robson, and Julie Christie won her Academy Award for Darling later that same year. Rod Taylor, already known for The Time Machine and The Birds, went on to star in The Liquidator and Dark of the Sun. He returned to prominence late in his career playing Winston Churchill in Quentin Tarantino\'s Inglourious Basterds in 2009, and he died in January 2015.

Print analysis
This is an original silver gelatin 8x10 studio still printed for the 1965 release of Young Cassidy. The YC-37 production code in the lower left is standard MGM still numbering for the film. The embossed seal of the Dutch film censorship board and the red Dutch distributor stamp on the back show the print was issued for the film\'s theatrical release in the Netherlands in 1965. This makes it a Type 1 original photo.
Condition
In good to excellent vintage condition. Please see scans of the image we have provided for the most accurate and complete state of the photo. Some of the photos in this collection have tiny holes from staples in some of the corners from being displayed as part of a working set at a theater, so please check images.
