Wooden handle
A spring in the handle automatically re-extends the drive shaft after pressing down to drive the screw;Spring is accessible via a screw in the handle.
Stamped/etched into the barrel of the shank is the following:
"YANKEE"
"HANDYMAN"
"No. 133H"
"NORTH Bros. Mfg. Co."
"Div of Stanley Tool"
"Phila. PA. Made in U.S.A."
NB was acquired by Stanley in 1946; the NB name was phased outby 1952.
So, this tool is definitely between 72 and 78 years old. Thus antique.This screwdriver would make a fine addition to any vintage tool style="font-family: Tahoma;">Good, not even considering how old it is.
Works well, as designed.
Clean, except for yellow paint splotch on gripping part of shank.
Metal shank has some (very) minor scratches; no noticeable pitting or scarring.
Double-spiral pattern on expandable shank is clean and well-defined.
Handle has expected wear and tear - (very) minor scratches and gouges.
Spring action works well as designed.
Selection switch is free and works as designed.
