This is a remarkably complete, museum-quality World War II-era Boy Scouts of America (BSA) uniform ensemble dated 1944. The collection originally belonged to a First Class Scout from Troop 44 in Tiffin, Ohio, who attended summer camp at Camp Berry (located just south of Findlay, Ohio).
The complete set includes:
• Official Uniform Shirt (Lot 647): A mid-1940s olive-drab cotton twill long-sleeve shirt (Size 14½ Neck). It features a rare white-ink 1944 Scout Retreat felt patch, a round Camp Berry teepee patch, red-on-tan "Tiffin, Ohio" community strips, a Troop 44 patch, a First Class rank patch with an attendance pin, and two Service Stars with green felt backings indicating two years of tenure. The collar features the historic woven multi-city tag (New York, Chicago, San Francisco).
• Official Neckerchief & Slide: A vibrant red triangular cotton neckerchief featuring a white-stamped official BSA universal seal on the back point, secured by a vintage brown leather three-hole "stepped" slide.
• Uniform Trousers: Matching olive-drab heavy cotton twill service pants featuring a traditional 1940s button fly and a premium, repeating BSA National Headquarters circular logo printed on the interior pocket linings.
• Garrison Cap: A matching side-cap with red piping trim, an embroidered diamond backing patch, a metal universal emblem pin, and an authentic official BSA ink stamp on the interior lining.
• Uniform Accessories: An official olive-drab molded plastic whistle with the BSA seal, attached to a yellow braided lanyard cord, alongside a matching brass friction belt buckle and a pair of canvas Y-strap sock garters with wire-form metal clips.
The entire ensemble is in exceptional, field-preserved condition with no major fabric damage, making it a rare and historically significant artifact from the home front of the 1940s.
