J.F. Hink & Son Company opened in Berkeley in the early 1900\'s. The department store occupied the space now used by the Landmark\'s Shattuck Cinemas at the corner of Shattuck Avenue and Kittredge Street.
Hink\'s Department store was a local favorite for over seven decades, but the store was sold by the Hink family in 1978.
