Wild West Playing Cards is a set of two poker decks inspired by the history of the area around the Black Hills mountain range and the establishment of the gold rush town, Deadwood. These decks were designed by Randy Butterfield, and printed by Legends Playing Card Company with their classic finish.
The two poker decks take their names from these regions, the Black Hills deck with a gun metal grey background and the Deadwood deck with a tan/cream background. Both have the same designs in different color schemes. Each set of suits is centered on a different group of historical figures, the Clubs and Spades depict important people who were instrumental in the development of Deadwood, while the Hearts and Diamonds depict influential figures from the Black Hills and Montana regions. Furthermore, each suit has a different background design: Spades show the Saloon interior, the Clubs depict the main street of Deadwood, Hearts have a Native American camp, and Diamonds reveal the Needles of the Black Hills.
The Limited Collector\'s Set was a Kickstarter EXCLUSIVE. Only 250 sets were made. This listing includes:
- 1 x new/sealed Gilded Black Hills Edition: has black gilding.It is distinguished from the Standard version by a red band on the plastic wrap.
- 1 x new/sealed Gilded Deadwood Edition: has gold gilding. It is distinguished from the Standard version by a red band on the plastic wrap.
- 1 x Companion Book: 32 pages. Each court card has a two-page spread where one page has a short bibliography of the historical figure depicted on the court card illustrated on the opposite page.
- 1 x Collector\'s Box: holds two decks. Has white and gold foil on the lid.
